Social Housing Projects Example

"I am as happy as I can be here"
St Broc's Resident

St Broc's Social Housing Complex was opened in 2003. The building was donated by the Religious Sisters of Charity and refurbished to provide 31 apartments for 40 elderly people in Milltown, Dublin.

Many older people live in very insecure accommodation and it is a real worry for them. The complex has a resident supervisor who provides great support and with two communal areas and a roof garden, there are lots of opportunities for people to get together. The capital cost of €5.5m was provided by the Department of the Environment through Dublin City Council, while the SVP contributed €75,000 towards decor.
