North Midlands Regional President, Kevin McBrien
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a direct service non-profit organisation whose work primarily involves person-to-person contact with people who have a variety of needs. In addition to direct assistance, we try to promote self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves. Any assistance offered by the Society is given in a non-judgmental spirit of compassion, based on the need of the individual or family.
The North Midlands Region of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) comprises parts of, Longford, Westmeath, Roscommon & Offaly. There are 35 local groups or ‘Conferences’ in the North Midlands with approximately 400 voluntary members whose main activity is our core work HOME VISITATION. This is visiting people in their own homes.
The work of the SVP is made possible by the generosity of the public, who as well as making many donations throughout the year, also donate at Church Gate collections, through flag days and via bequests.
