Tax effective giving

Managing money

SVP can claim thousands of Euro every year thanks to tax-effective giving. This is a straightforward and simple process, which allows your donation to go even further and us to get the most out of your gift.

Any taxpayer who donates €250 or more in a year to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul can:

  • Fill out of a form if they are a PAYE worker and allow the Charity to reclaim the tax on donations
  • Claim the tax themselves if they are Self-Assessed or Corporate Donors

How does tax-effective giving work?

If you are a  PAYE Tax payer donations of €250 or more in a year may be eligible for tax relief.
If you are paying PAYE at:

  • The higher rate of 41%, €250 is actually worth €423 to SVP.
  • The standard rate of 20%, €250 is actually worth €313 to SVP.

If you are a PAYE taxpayer please take a few minutes to download and fill out the form below.

After you complete your form, simply send it to:

Fundraising,
SVP National Office,
SVP House,
91-92 Sean MacDermott St,
Dublin 1.

Self-Employed/ Self-Assessed Donor

If you are self-assessed and you donate over €250 in one tax year to SVP we will send you a receipt for your donation. When you fill out your tax return, deduct the donation amount from your taxable income thus reducing your tax bill. The donor benefits directly from the tax relief on donations.

Corporate Donor

If a company makes a donation of €250 to SVP, the company can claim a deduction for the donation as if it were a trading expense. The company benefits from the tax relief.
