The South East region of SVP is in urgent need of your support.
Mary’s family is just one example of the type of people that SVP helps in both Waterford and Clonmel. Mary is a young mother with two small children. Becky is 3 Months and Liam is 7.
Since losing her job 12 months ago, Mary has struggled to get by on a daily basis. She was constantly worried about how she would be able to put food in front of her children and how she would pay the mounting bills. She was alone, desperate and scared.
Eventually, she plucked up the courage to call SVP in the South East and she was met with a warm and friendly voice. A couple of days later, Mary was visited by two of the local SVP volunteers. They have not only given her advice and helped with her bills, but they have been there for her when she was in need.
Mary says that
“More than anything I know that someone cares, that I’m not totally alone and that’s been the biggest help to me. I can see that it won’t always be like this and that we will get back on our feet, I feel hope for the future and for my kids.”
