Holiday Breaks

In the mid 1960's the Ozanam Holiday Home was opened by the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, as at the time it was felt that the opportunity for a holiday should be made available for the less well off. Thus the Ozanam Home at Mornington was established, and has been successful for the past forty odd years, welcoming visitors to our Centre and who have had the benefit of a holiday, which they could not otherwise afford.

Society in general has changed for a considerable number of people, but unfortunately, there are still those who would not have the benefit of a holiday if it had not been for the excellent services provided by the Society of St Vincent De Paul.

Ozanam Holiday Home is set on 4 acres in Mornington, Co.Meath, and is only 10 minutes walk from the River Boyne where St. Patrick is said to have landed. It is approximately 30 kilometres’ from Dublin, 6 from Drogheda and is within walking distance of the village of Bettystown.

The building is on ground level making it very accessible for those with mobility problems. The Ozanam Holiday Home has 31 twin bedrooms, all ensuite. Visitors usually arrive on Sunday afternoon at 3pm and depart Saturday morning at 9.30am. the week’s holiday offer full board, an afternoon trip and music every evening. There is also a TV room, pool room, and oratory and a sun room.

It is advisable to book early as the summer season fills up very quickly- so come and enjoy a week of good food, companionship and good fun in this warm friendly home which will result in any intending visitor returning home fully refreshed and looking forward to the next visit to the Ozanam Holiday Home, Mornington.
