Resource Centres

People meeting and writing on paper

The Resource Centres provide programmes in education, childcare and community-based recreation and leisure facilities for the young and old.

When the Society initially became aware of the need for a place where the less fortunate members of the community could come to learn new skills and develop their talents in a safe and non-threatening environment and so empower themselves to move beyond a dependency culture.

The Centres are very often seen as a focal point in the community by people whether it's for Adult Education, Computer classes, Life Skills classes or just a place where one can meet a friendly face or find a listening ear. Many people say the Centre has become a lifeline, their place of refuge in times of crisis or anguish.

The Centre has grown and developed, with a focus changing and broadening out so that the emphasis is now placed on the integration of all sectors of the community in an atmosphere in inclusiveness, acceptance and affirmation.
