Ozanam House Resource Centre is a recently refurbished community resource centre based on Mountjoy Square in the North Inner City and run by the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. It is located on the site of the original clothing and furniture warehouse of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in a building that has also been used by the Society for a variety of purposes for almost 90 years. Some years ago, following a consultation process with voluntary groups, statutory agencies and most importantly SVP conferences in the area, it was decided to develop Ozanam House into a resource for the community. The centre was subsequently renovated into a first class community resource centre.
Since our opening in September 2002 we have continued to develop various programmes and projects aimed at addressing the issue of social exclusion as well as the many needs of the local community. Some examples of these programmes and projects are a children’s centre, a computer training centre, cookery classes focusing on healthy eating, an active retirement group and many more. The centre also boasts many meeting rooms where community groups can rent space and also avail of our wonderful resource for their own needs.
