ABOUT US
The Breffni Region of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul comprises, Sligo, Leitrim, north Mayo and Achonry. There are 35 local groups or ‘Conferences’ in Breffni, with over three hundred voluntary members. The conferences, organised locally at parish level, meet regularly and visitation is central to their work.
The work of SVP is made possible by the generosity of the public, who as well as making many donations throughout the year, also donate at Church Gate collections, through flag days, and via bequests.
The SVP provides both financial and practical help, often providing food and fuel for people in need. In the provision of material or other support we assure confidentiality at all times and try to establish relationships based on trust, friendship and respect. We also try to encourage participation in education, providing information and sometimes resources for people at all levels of education.
