    The prime purpose of the role of Member Support Officer will include the following: Provide a point of contact and support for members within the region, volunteer recruitment and associated processes.

    The role will encompass a developmental and administrative focus, working primarily with Area Presidents and as necessary, Conference Presidents around capacity building, recruitment, retention, member development and training, use of communication and data management tools.

    The successful applicant will possess the following:

    • FETAC level 7 (or equivalent) in Community Development/ Social Sciences or a closely related field and/ or FETAC level 7 (or equivalent) in Communications, Business Administration or a closely related field.
    • Knowledge of needs and issues of those struggling with poverty and disadvantage.
    • Experience in group facilitation and capacity building/enhancing structures in the community.
    • Experience in the community / voluntary sector.
    • Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
    • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
    • Excellent  I.T. skills – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, experience with a CRM database is desirable.
    • Ability to be flexible in approach and towards the role.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    OTHER
    • Flexible in approach, available for evening and weekend work with volunteer members.
    • Own Car/ clean driving licence - use of car for business purposes.
