Food Appeal guidelines

Some information to help you with your Food Appeal.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides help to thousands of families at Christmas which includes both essential food items as well as Christmas treats.  This food is distributed by our network of local volunteers.
We would be so grateful if your company, school or group would like to be Christmas Elves and take part in the Food Appeal. 

We will provide you with:

Posters to put up around your organisation
A list of suggested food items
Delivery information and a delivery docket to go with your food donations
A certificate of appreciation to display on a noticeboard

You will:

Collect all donations by the cut-off date for your region to allow ample turnaround time for our volunteers visiting families in need
Ensure all food collected is non-perishable, with an expiry date well into 2020
Ensure all food is unwrapped and in shopping bags as opposed to hampers, for the ease of our volunteers

Returning your Food Appeal donations

When you or your company have/has completed your collection, food items should be returned to an agreed collection point or to your local Regional Office.

In some cases, it can be arranged to have foods collected. Please liaise with your local Regional Office in order to arrange the details for drop off/collection.
