Volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) and become part of the largest and oldest voluntary charitable organisation in Ireland.
Our greatest strength is our volunteers, you know the issues in your community and can address immediate needs as well as helping families
and individuals, young and old,
move towards self-sufficiency and
through friendship and support. Offering a little help at the right time can give people hope for the future.

Volunteer Opportunities – What Can I do?
Join a local Conference visiting people in their homes responding to their needs and requests for support. There are also specialised roles in hospitals and prisons.

Join one of our 240 Charity shops and support our work locally, making a different in your community.

Share your time and skills in one of our youth club, adult education classes, day care centres, holiday homes or social housing services.

How the volunteering process works?
Members/Volunteers are recruited in line with our Volunteer Recruitment Policy. In summary, potential Members/ Volunteers are asked to:
Request an application form, please see below.
Complete the application form sent to you via email
Provide referees, whom we will contact
Sign a pre garda vetting declaration
Undergo Garda vetting
Existing Members/Volunteers will speak with applicants about the role to ensure it is right for you.
Attend induction training and any other role specific training such as child protection training
Receive a welcome pack with all the information you need
Sign a volunteer agreement
Potential Members/Volunteers will be put in direct contact with:
a local visitation conference, manager of a shop or coordinator/manager of a selected services who will schedule a meeting to discuss possible start dates.
Once you submit the request, you will receive via email a link
to complete the application form.
Once you complete the application, you will receive an email with further details on the volunteer role selected and on the application process.
You will also receive a ‘Welcome Call’ from a member of our team to thank you for applying and to guide you through the next steps.
