Welcome to Social Justice
A key part of the mission of the SVP is to work for Social Justice. Our members work closely with many people in our society who suffer from poverty and social exclusion. We use that ‘From-The-Ground-Up’ experience and information from our calls for assistance to lobby for practical changes to policy in its widest sense.
We regularly meet with and make Submissions to Government Departments and Agencies and also to Regulators and Utility Companies on a wide variety of issues in an attempt to make a real and positive difference to people's everyday lives. Both on our own and in coalition with other organisations on relevant issues, we use our influence and experience to try and bring about a fairer and more just society for all. We specifically use the experience of members and those we assist to inform our annual Pre-Budget Submission to Government, and our Media work.
