Shop Manager - Ballyhaunis, Permanent Full Time - Greenfield Site - 37.5 hrs

Location: Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo

Salary range: €35,232 per annum

Experience: 3 Years in customer facing retail environment

Description:

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Retail Shop Manager for a new shop opening in Ballyhaunis circa December 2024. This is a unique opportunity to develop a shop from a greenfield site and work with an organisation that makes a difference in the community.

We are looking for a creative, self-motivated individual who is customer and people centric, who will work closely with the Regional Retail Manager to create a team from volunteers and community scheme workers with a goal to optimise sales so we can better serve the community.  

Our stores stock a range of items from fashion, to furniture and bric-a-brac, we have an central distribution centre (OFC), where are stock is sorted, this gives each manager the opportunity to choose items which best suit each shops customer’s needs

Should you be successful you will be part of a great team made up of a network of fourteen shops in the West region and a Order fulfilment Centre.​

Candidate Requirements:​

Education

• Minimum Leaving Certificate level

Experience

• At least 3 years in a customer facing retail environment
• Experience of managing / working with a diverse team of people
• Experience of independent working and also working as part of a team
• Experience of providing and analyzing sales reports

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in individual and group situations
• An ability to establish and foster excellent working relationships with many different people across different functions and locations
• Excellent organization skills
• Competent in IT packages - Excel, Word, EPOS, Microsoft 365
• A positive outlook with resilience and persistence in the face of barriers and setbacks
• An ability to display empathy, patience and a well-developed sense of humor

Knowledge

• Commercially aware
