The Irish Examiner is turning selfies selfless this Christmas by asking everyone to help reach its target pledge of a €10,000 to St Vincent De Paul by simply taking a Christmas selfie and sending it to the Irish Examiner – via Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag: #selfie4svp. For every selfie received, the Irish Examiner will donate €1 to SVP – up to 10,000.”
Christmas selfies can be shared via the Irish Examiner Facebook page and via Twitter until Tuesday, December 23. The Irish Examiner will then print as many selfies as possible in paper on Christmas Eve.
Karen O’Donoghue, Marketing Manager, Irish Examiner said: “We are delighted to support St Vincent de Paul as part of our Christmas Charity initiative, and believe #selfie4svp is a great way for everyone to show their support to an extremely worthwhile campaign. It gets people involved and creates awareness of SVP in a fun and festive way. SVP provides invaluable care, emotional and financial support to people living in poverty, a cause that holds strong in people's hearts, making it a charity we want to get behind. It has been a tough year for charities so our campaign with SVP is an important demonstration of giving something back."
