Following the news that Vincent’s on Mill Street Newry scooped Bronze in this year’s St Vincent de Paul Window Display, the staff and volunteers have now been awarded Bronze by Newry BID for their festive Christmas Window Display.
Paula Clarke, Vincent’s Manager said: “Apparently there were lots of entries for the Newry BID Window Display Competition from retailers across the city and competition was tough so I am absolutely thrilled that the hard work and efforts of our volunteers has been rewarded. This award is for the volunteers who fulfilled the SVP brief of creating a sustainable window display and they made most of the items on display in the window lovingly by hand. I want to thank them as their hard work has truly paid off.”
Newry BID said were delighted to see the involvement from their members to help showcase Newry in its best light, working in line with their theme of Improving how Newry Looks. The standard of entries was excellent and they congratulated everyone.

I am delighted to hear that they have been recognised by Newry BID and been presented with another Bronze award for their Christmas Window Display which focused on underpinning our commitment to the environment with its sustainable theme.”
Vincent’s charity shops are a very important aspect of the service SVP provides. Not only do they provide people with new and lightly worn items at affordable prices, they also provide an income source for the Society, which is recycled directly back into the community.
The charity shops are managed by a small number of professionals, assisted by a large number of volunteers. The profits generated from the charity shops, some of which also supply furniture, are recycled into local Conferences around Northern Ireland to support those in need.
