Regional Administrator, Gerry Garvey, appointed to SVP South West (Cork & Kerry)

Gerry Garvey has recently been appointed to the position of Regional Administrator  for the expanded south west region, based in the SVP offices at Tuckey Street, Cork.  A native of Limerick, Gerry is married to Anne, they have four teenage children and live in Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick. Educated through NIHE (now UL),  Dundalk  IT and UCC.

 

Gerry has vast experience in both the business and community development spheres having spent some 25 years running  businesses for himself and the past  eight  years in Limerick City Enterprise  Board,  Limerick Regeneration Agency and St Marys AID.

 

He has had a broad involvement over many years in community and voluntary groups and Festival organisations and has held senior positions in several of these organisations.  

 

He joins the Society of  St Vincent de Paul at a time of much change in the organisation and will play an important role in supporting the hundreds of SVP members and volunteers in carrying out their valuable work to help those in need throughout our communities with the assistance of a dedicated staff team.
