Retail Awards 2018 celebrate the best of Vincent’s Retail

The 3rd National SVP Retail Conference & Awards took place on Thursday 28th June 2018 in Croke Park. The event was attended by staff and volunteers from across Ireland.  
 
This annual event is an opportunity for volunteers and staff from across the retail network of shops, transport and Order Fulfilment Centres to recognise and celebrate the hard work and achievements of the past 12 months. 

The event was proudly sponsored by All-Tex Recyclers. 
 
At the Retail Awards, long serving volunteer, Paddy Carroll from Nenagh spoke of the importance of recycling textiles through the SVP network of Order Fulfilment Centres. Paddy also spoke about the vital partnership between SVP and All-Tex Recyclers as SVP seeks to extract the maximum possible value from donated goods whilst caring for the environment.  Textile Recyclers like All-Tex help to raise vital funds for charities by finding markets for textiles that can’t be sold through the local network of shops. This approach is more environmentally friendly as it promotes the concept of “reuse, reduce and recycle” and keeps textiles from being dumped in landfill sites.
 

Following the plenary session at the Conference, a number of awards were presented for categories including:

• Volunteer of the Year
• Business Development Award
• Outstanding Team Award
• Social Media Award  - see photo of the winners from Vincent’s in Friary Lane in Tralee.

 
The theme of the Window Dressing Competition was “Pre-loved, Recycled, Re-loved” and again emphasised the strong environmentally friendly theme of the conference. See the full list of award winners.
