SVP Bursary fund supported by One for Ireland

One For Ireland was established this year with one objective: One Cause, One day, one Euro. On April 29th 2016 they asked one million people to donate one Euro to help fight youth homelessness.

In partnership with the Irish Youth Foundation, eight charities were chosen to benefit from the funds raised and SVP was delighted to be selected as one of the charities involved. Others included Simon, Focus Ireland, Peter McVerry and Threshold.

The funds raised by One for Ireland will support the charities to run projects aimed at ending youth homelessness. With the funds allocated to SVP, we will provide an education and training fund for those at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the midlands in Ireland.

We believe that education, training and employment are essential to help young people move out of poverty and prevent homelessness.  Helping those in need secure or stay in education is a key pillar of the work that SVP carries out.

The provision of such educational supports to some of Ireland’s most vulnerable young adults will have a lasting effect on not only that individual, but also on our Society as a whole.

A huge thank you to One for Ireland for their fantastic campaign.
