About us

Castleisland Family Resource Centre opened in March of 2009, the centre is based on community ownership and our aim is:

“To bring about change through the process of empowerment and support at family, individual and community level”.

Castleisland Family Resource centre is based on community ownership.  We encourage members of the community to get involved at various different levels and use their skillset to assist others. The centre welcomes both young and old, who wish to learn new skills and develop themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.

A lot of our work focuses on supporting families, assisting with the challenges that they face and helping them overcome these challenges. We work closely with TUSLA, local schools, community services, HSE, KDYS and many more organisations.

We provided educational and recreational courses, talks, parent support and much more.

The main part of our work involves working directly with, and supporting families. This can include:

  • Education courses,
  • Budgeting advice,
  • Parenting courses, and
  • Advice to support day to day family life.
  • Meitheal

This vital support is provided to families from a wide catchment area from Mid to North Kerry.

We are always open to providing new courses or activities and welcome suggestions from our service users. Why not drop in for a look around and a chat.
