AIM Classroom Assistant - Ozanam House (Specific Purpose)

Location: Mountjoy Square, Dublin 1

Salary range: €11,832.50 per annum

Experience: A Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education is essential.

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a AIM Classroom Assistant on a Specific Purpose contract (15hours per week). to join our Children and Family Services team in Ozanam House, Dublin 1. The post holder will have responsibility forsupporting the child’s access and inclusion into daily activities and routines while also encouraging group participation. Intense 1:1 support may be required to promote positive peer interactions and to support the child in daily self-care such as changing, toileting, eating, washing hands. This is a great opportunity to join one of Ireland’s largest voluntary organisations and make a difference in your community.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

Qualifications
• A Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education is essential.

Experience
Minimum of 1 year of professional experience of working directly with pre-school children in an early year’s setting is essential.
• Experience of working with this age group in a similar setting.
• Experience of working in the community or voluntary sector is an advantage.

Knowledge
Good knowledge of underlying principles in early years education including Aistear and Siolta.

Skills
Ability to use initiative and display enthusiasm and an interest in supporting and empowering young children and their families.
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work well on own and as a team member.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy for young children and their families.
