Location: Drop-In Centre, Hartstonge Street, Limerick City
Salary range: €17.67 per hour; paid monthly

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a Relief Support Worker to join our Children & Family Services team in our Drop-In Centre - Limerick. The post holder will have responsibility for assisting in the day to day running of the Drop-In service, on a locum basis covering staff absences, leave etc. The service is open 6 days per week. The Support Worker will be responsible for processing referrals, conducting assessments; support planning and implementation of support plans; engaging with service users, and supporting service users. Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required
Education
• Level 5 in Social Care or Community Development required. (Essential)
• BA in Social Care / Community Development NFQ Level 7 or higher or equivalent/working towards. (Desirable)
• Certificate in Homelessness Prevention and Intervention (FETAC Level 5) or a FETAC Level 5 healthcare qualification would be an advantage. (Desirable)
Experience
• A minimum of one years’ experience working in a Social Care / Community Development setting. (Essential).
• Working knowledge and understanding of addiction and mental health issues. (Essential.)
• Experience of working in homeless services would be an advantage.
Skills
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and with volunteers.
• The ability to work on your own initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• To have excellent report writing and record keeping skills.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Word and experience with databases.
Knowledge
• To have an understanding of the needs of those who experience homelessness. (Essential).
• Knowledge of local homeless strategies and fora and understanding of how they relate to current and future service provisions to people out of the home in the locality/region.
• Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values
• Knowledge of needs and issues of the poor and disadvantaged
