South Inner City SVP Appeal 2025

The summary

"We are a small conference of 7 people operating in Dublin South Inner city. We deal with people in need due to arrears of rent or utility bills and support people finding it difficult to make ends meet in these challenging times. Requests to our conference are ever increasing due to the ongoing cost of living, accommodation and other social factors which continue to challenge our client base.

There has been a marked increase in the number of people in homeless accommodation requesting assistance. We provide people with food bags on a bi-weekly basis. We support education in Primary and Secondary school. We strongly support those who aspire to 3rd Level education but whose family circumstances make this impossible. In such a case we offer continuing support through regular contact, encouragement and support with fees.

Any support given generally is advanced only after meeting with the applicant concerned and having satisfied ourselves of their circumstances and needs. When requested we also support the local Primary School and liaise with the school management in relation to their most urgent needs.

Last year thanks to our fundraising appeal we distributed food and vouchers. We anticipate this year that the families we serve will be more dependent than ever on what we can provide.

We appreciate any donation received and we guarantee that the entirety of the money raised will be given to the people we support in the Dublin South Inner city area. In particular all donations received will be used as part of our Christmas assistance and into the new year. Last year over the Christmas period our conference supported 140 families and individuals and we expect the number will be even higher this year.
