St Patrick's Kilquade Christmas Appeal 2025

The summary

St Patrick's Kilquade SVP conference comprises 12 local volunteers and covers a wide geographical area which includes Newcastle, Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy, Moneystown and Roundwood. Parts of our area may appear quite wealthy and while this is true, there are many individuals and families living here who struggle every day to meet their basic needs for food, energy, and ongoing living costs. Consequently across our region we help approximately 150 households annually. This could not happen without the support we get from donors, both to our monthly church gate collections and the Annual Christmas Appeal.
We mind your donated money carefully and allocate it to our clients as fairly as we can. Our average expenditure over the last three years has been in the region of €60000 annually. This goes almost entirely on food vouchers, school and college costs , and household maintenance. For some, it can still just take one small problem to tip them into crisis and poverty. It can be an unexpected illness or unexpected bills. But we know that a little help at the right time can stop a domino effect leading to a family experiencing prolonged hardship.
We come to you with this big Appeal at Christmas because it is at this time that pressures are greatest on poorer households. It is a great privilege for us volunteers to be able pass on the money you have given us to those who need it most. We simply couldn't do what we do with out your support and generosity.
