SVP Submission to Northern Ireland's Draft Anti-Poverty Strategy
SVP suggests improvements to the Northern Ireland Executive's Draft Anti-Poverty Strategy. These improvements include actions targeting the factors driving child poverty, strategies to address housing and homelessness, and greater attention to the needs of one-parent families and people with disabilities, among others. We suggest that the Strategy adopts clear indicators and clearly links actions to desired outcomes. Our overarching recommendation is that the Executive revisit this strategy by engaging directly with the community and voluntary sector and the decades of research on poverty in Northern Ireland.
