IoD Ireland is delighted to announce that we will be supporting the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) for our Christmas appeal this year. Unfortunately, the effects of the cost-of-living crisis has impacted many families and individuals around the country, and calls to SVP asking for assistance have increased 20% year-on-year. SVP volunteers are worried they will struggle to meet this demand going into winter and Christmas time. We are encouraging all our members and stakeholders to give as generously as they can to help the work of SVP this Christmas.
Founded in Ireland in 1844, SVP is the largest voluntary charitable organisation in Ireland. SVP’s ambition is to offer a practical approach to dealing with poverty and alleviating its effects on individuals and families. It does this through working primarily in person-to-person contact by a unique system of family visitation and seeking to achieve social justice and equality of opportunity for all citizens.
SVP is a member of the Charities Institute Ireland and is fully committed to the Charities Regulator Code, Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public. This Code sets out the core fundraising principles of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, including online fundraising. IoD Ireland will not be processing any donations directly. All donations will be processed directly via the SVP website. If you wish to donate, please donate.
Very happy to contribute to SVP. Thank you
Great cause, good luck with the appeal.
