Housing the Homeless

The Society of St Vincent De Paul is the biggest provider of hostels for the homeless in Ireland, offering 340 beds per night with a further 43 planned for the future, with hostel developments in Counties Clare and Waterford. The Society also provides a range of emergency accommodation including transitional and long-term for men, women and children, offering a welcoming environment to those who need assistance. Facilities are offered in education and training, employment services, personal development and resettlement. Hostels receive funding from local authorities, Health Boards. Those who use the service pay a contribution.
