SVP response to the Consultation on National Standards for accommodation offered to people in the protection process: The Department of Justice and Equality has carried out a consultation on National Standards for accommodation offered to people in the protection process. SVP has highlighted a number of areas which we believe should be taken into consideration in the provision of accommodation for people who are seeking protection, including the high levels of poverty and social exclusion being experienced by many individuals and families who are in the direct provision system.
